Mudrooms are a solution to household mess and clutter – especially in Colorado, where people are as likely to track sloppy snow prints through their home as they are to trek in remnants from a long day in the garden.
Laundry and utility rooms also make good mudrooms. But even a small entryway can be transformed into a mini-mudroom with a few careful choices.
As with any space designed to help undercut clutter, make sure there are plenty of hooks, shelves and storage bins, along with a bench or stool where a weary body might rest to kick off shoes or peel off outerwear. Here, Cottage Living magazine has selected the perfect bench, storage bins, umbrella and rain boots. The goal: a mudroom so stylish homeowners may never use the front door again (unless it opens onto the mudroom).
