Las Vegas – The FlatIron Crossing shopping center in Broomfield could someday host up to two hotels, an official from mall owner Westcor said Monday.

Hotel operators are eyeing anchor space in the mall’s outdoor village as well as in the former Lord & Taylor store, an option reported last week.

“If (a hotel) goes to the Lord & Taylor site, it would probably be the second hotel,” said Bob Williams, senior vice president of development leasing for Phoenix-based Westcor, a division of the Macerich Co.

Westcor, which also is redeveloping Boulder’s former Crossroads Mall into a mixed-used project called Twenty Ninth Street, has also gotten calls from hotels interested in that site, Williams said during the International Council of Shopping Centers’ annual convention.

Other metro-area project updates:

Westcor said Monday that Twenty Ninth Street will have two retailers new to the state: catalog retailer Territory Ahead and pet-gear company Muttropolis, both opening this spring. Z Gallerie has also signed on as a tenant.

Greenwood Village-based Alberta Development Partners has scheduled a June 15 groundbreaking for redevelopment of Centennial’s Southglenn Mall.

Denver-based Continuum Partners said it is preparing for the opening of two new restaurants – Emogene’s and Las Margaritas – in its Belmar development in Lakewood this year.
