Former East High School basketball player Dazzmond Thornton has transferred from Texas Tech to James Madison, according to Internet recruiting sites. A 6-foot-6, 288-pound forward, Thornton averaged 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10 games as a freshman last season at Texas Tech.
