Park reservations

Campground space remains available at seven of the 40 Colorado State Parks locations. These are Arkansas Headwaters, Bonny, Elevenmile, Island Acres, Paonia, Colorado State Forest and Yampa River. For reservations, 800-678-2267.

Warmwater seminar

Novice anglers can learn the basics of warmwater fishing through a seminar series sponsored by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the Colorado Walleye Association. A classroom session is scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 3 at DOW’s Colorado Springs office, 4255 Sinton Road. A followup is scheduled on the water at Pueblo Reservoir on June 10. Youth shooting clinic

Teller County youngsters ages 7-16 may participate in a Division of Wildlife clinic that teaches shotgun and archery skills. The 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17 event will be at the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company site south of Divide. For directions and information, call Steve Lucero at 719-227-5203.

SWA rules

The Division of Wildlife has instituted a series of new rules at two state wildlife areas in southwest Colorado. Echo Canyon Reservoir near Pagosa Springs has been declared a wakeless area. Also, snowmobiles are prohibited. At Williams Creek SWA in Hinsdale County, no boat wakes, camping or open fires are allowed. Snowmobiles can be used only to assist with ice fishing.
