Twin Sisters, $10.99 750ml bottle
Left Hand Brewing of Longmont follows the microbrew trend of bigger, hoppier beers with its new release, Twin Sisters.
Twin Sisters is a Double India Pale Ale and is, according to the bottle notes, “a testament to hops.”
No doubt. But, after an initial burst of bitterness on the front of your tongue, the hops make themselves less obvious. Even more subtle is the fact that Twin Sisters contains a hefty 9.6 percent alcohol (by volume). Good balance keeps it all under control.
Twin Sisters, unfiltered and a hazy orange color, is available in Colorado only in a 750ml champagne-style bottle, complete with a cork and wire-basket closure.
