Trammell Crow to head state-court building project
A team led by Trammell Crow Co. has been selected as project manager for the design and construction of Colorado Judicial Department and Colorado Historical Society facilities.
The organizations now occupy a city block between Lincoln Street and Broadway and East 13th and East 14th avenues, known as the Colorado Judicial Heritage Center. The Judicial Department and the Historical Society have outgrown their buildings.
Trammell Crow will team with Steinmann Facility Development Consultants, CRL Associates and LOA Architects to undertake a first-phase feasibility study.
Last year, the Urban Land Institute determined that the buildings did not meet the needs of either organization and recommended they work together to find a solution.
The Colorado Center of Justice is projected to house the Colorado Supreme Court, court of appeals, state-court administrator’s office, attorney general’s office, office of the public defender, Supreme Court library and other related services.
The Historical Society needs a new museum building to house its exhibits, collections and administrative offices, the Stephen H. Hart Library, the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation and the state Historical Fund.
