The Denver Newspaper Agency on Monday announced plans to launch a special weekly advertising section that will include profiles of some of Colorado’s largest and most charitable companies.
The agency, which handles business operations for The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, unveiled its plans during a bill-signing ceremony at the World Trade Center Plaza building in Denver. Gov. Bill Owens signed six bills that make up a $26.5 million economic-development package.
A special section will appear Aug. 1 in both papers. It will be followed by a weekly series of advertisements on Tuesdays, for about six months, with paid profiles of at least one business and as many as four, said Tim Matthews, director of marketing.
He said the agency is developing a list of “legacy” companies that would be likely to purchase the profiles and advertisements in the section. The profiles will highlight the companies’ history, economic impact and charitable work, Matthews said.
“These companies are part of the fabric of Colorado,” Matthews said.
The agency is partnering on the section with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade as part of the office’s ongoing Advancing Colorado initiative.
