Getting your player ready...

Like chocolate and peanut butter, it’s hard to imagine a combination more appealing to local youth than skateboards and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. And that’s exactly what’s on the menu Sunday at noon, when a caravan of pro skateboarders will rumble through LoDo and into the Downtown Denver Skatepark on 19th Street as part of the 10-stop interactive skateboard tour through the American heartland known as Emerica’s Wild Ride. Emerica team skaters Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Ed Templeton, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Bryan Herman, Leo Romero, Austin Stephens, Matt Allen, Brandon Westgate and Braydon Szafranski will lead the Harley motorcade to the skateboard park, then join local groms in a skating session that includes instructional clinics. The truly dedicated can tag along with the caravan as it heads east on its 10-day tour to Chicago and camp with the skaters that night at the KOA in Goodland, Kan. For those who can’t attend Sunday’s skating session, the team will appear at BC Surf and Sport, 8678 Park Meadows Center Drive, Lonetree, (phone 303-768-8908) on Saturday at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited along for the ride of a lifetime.
