Jesse and the crew modify a truck to compete in the punishing Baja 1000 race. They’re able to gear up an elaborate suspension system and a high powered engine but the water in the hot tub keeps sloshing out on the bumps. Discovery Channel.
7 p.m. “Dirty Pretty Things”
A pair of immigrants make deals to trade a kidney for a passport. If they bargain, they might be able to get a seat upgrade. (2002) Independent Film Channel.
7:30 p.m. “The Hills”
This new reality series follows beach babe Lauren Conrad, one of the cast members from “Laguna Beach: the Real Orange County.” She has moved to Los Angeles and is going to college and interning at Teen Vogue. This is as much “reality” as you’re likely to find in Southern California. MTV.
8 p.m. “Venus Boyz”
A documentary chronicles the experiences of women who have chosen to live as men. To do so, they have surrendered their femininity, their emotional sensitivity, their fashion sense and their ability to put their dirty clothes in the hamper. (2002) Sundance Channel.
8:30 p.m. “The Apprentice”
This is the season finale. The winner gets a cash prize, a job in the Trump empire and their own little person to crush on their way up. NBC.
