Tanya Goldhaber graduated in June as the valedictorian of Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette. She had a 4.72 weighted grade-point average.

Tanya, who began playing the violin at age 5, plays in the first violin section in the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. She went on a five-concert tour of Austria and Hungary in 2004.

She attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2005 and was a member of the Aspen Music Festival Concert Orchestra. She will attend the festival again this summer.

She started a music-tutoring program at Peak to Peak and has been tutoring violin students since 2004.

Tanya has done academic tutoring since 2002 and helped start the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society chapters at Peak to Peak. She has served as a peer counselor for four years.

Tanya also has played soccer, volleyball and participated in cross country.

She worked at BioServe aerospace-engineering laboratory at the University of Colorado in 2001 and 2002.

Tanya will attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the fall and plans to double major in physics and music performance.
