The state Capitol building was evacuated briefly this afternoon, following a fire alarm. The legislature had reconvened today for a special session, called by Gov. Owens, on immigration and other issues.
For at least 20 minutes, lawmakers and staff members had to stand out in the rain, waiting for information from the fire department.
Shortly before 5 p.m., they were allowed to return inside.
