Tickets are being offered to The International golf tournament at Castle Pines Golf Club and the Centrix Grand Prix of Denver for a package price called “The Ultimate Sports Weekend.” For $59, fans get admission to the second round of The International on Friday, Aug. 11, and a full day of action Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Grand Prix.
All 144 contestants participate in the second round at The International, and Saturday’s events at the Grand Prix will included Champ Car practice and qualifying, an autograph session and trackside action sports. There also is a free street party Saturday night with a concert featuring The Samples.

DU hockey team signs forward Vossberg
The University of Denver announced that recruited walk-on Brandon Vossberg from St. Paul, Minn., has signed a national letter of intent to play hockey for the Pioneers next season.
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound forward, Vossberg scored 24 goals with 39 assists for 63 points in 58 games last season for the Santa Fe Roadrunners of the North American Hockey League.
State Games opening ceremony tickets on sale
Tickets are on sale for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Rocky Mountain State Games on Aug. 4 at the Colorado Springs World Arena. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youths and may be purchased at the arena box office or by calling 719-576-2626 or 1-866-464-2626.
