Getting your player ready...

Through a series of books and lectures, Aurora resident Barry Reynolds has planted himself firmly as a national authority on fly-fishing for alternate species: pike, bass, panfish – anything that isn’t a trout.

But he speaks, and casts, most eloquently when his target is carp, that often-maligned species that is universally available yet almost always overlooked.

Part of the issue in pursuing carp is learning where and how to catch them. Reynolds leaps this hurdle with a new DVD release, “The Fly Rodder’s Guide to Carp,” which delivers the information one might desire, along with considerable entertainment.

It’s available in most fly shops and soon at www.BarryReynoldsFlyFishing.com for $24.95.
