Colorado Mammoth midfielder Jay Jalbert scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds Sunday to give the United States a 13-12 victory over Canada on the third day of the World Lacrosse Championships at TD Waterhouse Stadium in London, Ontario.
Jalbert finished with three goals for the U.S. Jeff Zywicki, of the Denver Outlaws, scored a game-high five goals for Canada, while Mammoth coach Gary Gait scored a goal. The Outlaws’ Geoff Snider won 20 of 26 faceoffs for Canada.
Moss helps American team take gold medal
Denver’s Aaron Moss scored two goals, leading the U.S. national team to a 6-0 victory over defending champion Sweden in the gold-medal game of the International Ice Hockey Federation InLine World Championship tournament in Budapest, Hungary.
Moss’ second goal completed the rout, and the championship game ended in a shutout for the first time.
