Wine Away, about $8 for 8 ounces

This week, we take the contrarian view and share a great way to get rid of wine … on your clothes and carpets. Wine writer Tara Q. Thomas says it’s amazing: “I covered my white shirt with cherry juice stains last week while pitting a mess of them, and sprayed the Wine Away on it (thinking, well, it’s not wine, but it’s made out of fruit just like wine). It’s almost like new,” she says.

Cheryl Corn developed the citrus-based formula nine years ago with her daughters, and says. “It’s just sort of like magic when it goes on. When there’s a spill on the carpet, it’s gone. It works beautifully with dry stains too.”

Wine Away is sold at Sur la Table, Little Raven Vineyards (1590 Little Raven), Linens-N-Things, Albertsons and Argonaut Liquors, or at wineaway.com, 1-888-946-3292.|Kristen Browning-Blas
