The family of a nine-year-old boy in Larimer County believe their dog prevented a kidnapping attempt.
The boy was playing Monday evening in his family’s fenced yard on the 3000 block of West Laporte Avenue near Fort Collins with his five year old brother, according to Eloise Campanella, spokeswoman for the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
A stranger reached over the fence and grabbed the nine-year-old, attempting to drag him across.
The family dog began barking, which scared off the man.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. He is described as a balding white man in his mid-30’s, with brown hair. He may have a thin moustache.
He was wearing a blue t-shirt and denim shorts.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Larimer County sheriff’s office at 970-416-1985.
