DIA Partnership vice president Susan Stanton will leave the group later this month to become economic development director for the city of Brighton.

Stanton’s announcement comes just a few months after DIA Partnership president Julie Bender said she would leave the group at the end of the year. The Partnership’s board is conducting a search for Bender’s replacement.

“It was something I couldn’t pass up,” Stanton said of the new position, which she begins Aug. 21. “I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished at the partnership. This is a chance to shine a light on one of the metro area’s best-kept secrets.”

Stanton said she has high hopes for the future of the Partnership. She has worked for the group for 10 years.

“I’m excited about the direction of the Partnership,” she said. “It has wonderful leadership and continuity with the staff that is here. I will remain an advocate for it.”
