Q: Dear Scott – Any ideas on how to help with grieving for a beloved furry friend, and how to move on, would be greatly appreciated. Working, until your hands bleed, and falling into bed out of pure exhaustion, just isn’t cutting it!! Thanx!
SCOTT: You mean that didn’t work? Perplexing.
Grieving is hard, mostly because there’re no shortcuts. In other words, there’s no way to get around it, therefore you must go through it. Allow yourself to do that and be patient because it’ll take time.
Besides working your hands to the bone you should be taking extra good care of yourself. Exercise, reach out to friends, do whatever helps you get through this difficult time. Also know you’re not alone. We’ve all lost a pet and have been in your grieving shoes. Loss is the worst part of owning a pet, but reflecting on the beautiful relationship you had, I know you’ll agree its well worth it.
Memorialize your pet and don’t deny your feelings because the pain you’re feeling now will lessen and eventually fade in time.
