Paul McCartney has enough troubles, with his impending divorce from wife Heather, but planning officials in Sussex, England, want the former Beatle to remove a secluded lodge on the grounds of his nearby Woodlands Farm. McCartney failed to get permission to build the two-story building from the Rother District Council and Frank Rallings, head of the council’s planning, told the Sunday Times: “After four years, a building which has been constructed without planning permission becomes immune from enforcement action, so the clock is ticking for us.” Rallings has asked McCartney to submit paperwork justifying the lodge, which includes a gym, or it must be destroyed. McCartney’s representatives claim the log cabin provides a quiet place for their client to work.
Matthew Perry’s older neighbors in his Beverly Hills apartment building, Sierra Towers, claim the actor is not real friendly. One neighbor complained to the New York Post: “He never responds when we say hello. Every time one of us walks into the elevator and he is there, we always say ‘hi’ because it is nice and neighborly, and he always looks away and ignores us. Most people don’t know who he is – they didn’t watch ‘Friends’; they watched ‘Golden Girls.”‘ Perry’s rep did not comment.
Keith Richards has bought a property on the quiet English beach resort of West Withering for $112,000. The property is a simple hut, about the size of a standard garden shed, according to the Mail on Sunday. Peter Morton, who oversaw the sale, told the newspaper Richards spent $37,000 more than other sale prices of similar properties. The Rolling Stones guitarist also is expected to pay an additional $551 a year for ground rent and parking.
