Star Jones has told friends her 21-month marriage is in trouble, the New York Post’s Braden Keil reports. The former co-host for “The View” has denied rumors her marriage to Al Reynolds is shaky. But a friend of Jones told Keil, “Here she lost all that weight – and put her job on the line – in order to keep him. Star has resigned herself to the fact that they’re not going to spend the rest of their lives together.”
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may be getting hitched this weekend, gossip website mollygood.com reports. A source said several huge tents and outdoor chandeliers were being erected at the Scientology Celebrity Center in California. “Tom and Katie have been there twice in the last week,” the source said. Hairstylist Oscar Blandi has been booked “all weekend” for the couple. Cruise’s rep, Paul Bloch, has said wedding plans “are for late summer, maybe a bit later.”
Christie Brinkley, minus her wedding ring, met with husband Peter Cook for 15 minutes Tuesday at their home in the Hamptons, the New York Daily News reported. “I’d rather not comment,” Brinkley said as she and daughter Alexa Joel left. “I just don’t want to fuel this anymore.” Cook’s parents drove from their home in Greenport, Long Island, for the brief meeting. Brinkley handed out a box of sugar-free Popsicles to a Daily News photographer, with a handwritten note inside that read: “Sorry you have to do this on such a hot day!” Cook, 47, admitted having an affair with 19-year-old assistant Diana Bianchi and since has issued an apology to
Brinkley through his attorney. Another affair, with singer Samantha Cole in 1996 – when she was 19 and before Cook and Brinkley married – also has been revealed.
Hugh Grant reportedly has been asked to be the best man at his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley’s wedding, the Daily Star reported. Hurley, who has remained friends with the actor after their 13-year relationship ended, admitted to the Italian version of Vanity Fair magazine she and longtime beau Arun Nayar will marry but did not reveal a wedding date. Grant’s girlfriend, Jemima Khan, has ordered him to turn down the offer, the Daily Star reported.
Paul McCartney’s daughter, Stella McCartney, is expecting her second child, the Daily Mirror reported. Stella, 34, and her publisher husband Alasdhair Willis already have a 17-month-old son, Miller. No due date was released.
Marie Osmond was hospitalized two days last week because of a bad reaction to prescription drugs, TMZ.com reported. Osmond’s rep denied a National Enquirer report that the entertainer tried to commit suicide.

Us Weekly reported pro skateboarder Chad Muska made a lewd crack about the hotel heiress while deejaying at the club. “Kevin jumped into the DJ booth and hit Chad,” a witness told the magazine. Security stopped the fight, preventing any retaliation by Muska.
