Anglers can speak their minds
The Colorado Wildlife Commission will hear public testimony on the removal of game fish from the lower Yampa River at its Thursday meeting in Steamboat Springs.
This 10 a.m. segment at the Steamboat Sheraton Resort will allow anglers to comment on the depletion of a sport fishery for northern pike and smallmouth.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, along with the Division of Wildlife, for several years has removed large numbers of sport fish to protect endangered native species such as the pikeminnow.
Other items of discussion include a solidification of waterfowl regulations and a proposed landowner pilot program for buck deer in Game Management Unit 63.
