Heather Mills McCartney, right, is a control freak, a scheming manipulator and a meat eater who loves to wear fur, according to the sister of Mills’ first husband, Alfie Karmal. Dianna Karmal, former sister-in-law to Paul McCartney’s estranged wife, told the Daily Mirror that Mills “is like a chameleon. She draws in men making them believe she is their perfect dream woman. … She only became vegetarian after meeting Paul. She loved meat. And her anti-fur stance is laughable.”

McCartney hired Prince Charles’ lawyer and Mills hired Princess Diana’s attorney, Anthony Julius, for their proceeding. Julius won Diana $32 million in her divorce settlement; McCartney’s legal team is headed by Fiona Shackleton, who forced Diana to give up her royal title of “HRH.”

Christie Brinkley’s mother has words of wisdom for her cheating son-in-law, Peter Cook: Get a lawyer. Marjorie

Brinkley told Star magazine her daughter “is not wavering … or taking him back.” Christie Brinkley filed a “summons with notice” against Cook last week, the first step toward a divorce.

We like dissing Britney Spears as much as anybody else, but Esquire magazine has reached an all-time low. Esquire has included Spears’ 11-month-old son, Sean Preston Federline, on its worst-dressed list. Sean’s daddy, Kevin Federline, did not make the September issue’s list. The new James Bond, Daniel Craig, was named the best-dressed.

Ian McShane, according to an anecdote reported by John Hiscock of the Telegraph in the U.K., explained why he quit drinking in 1981. The “Deadwood” actor said he learned to drink while playing Richard Burton’s lover in the 1971 gangster film “Villain.” McShane and Burton began every morning with vodka and grapefruit. Of his kissing scenes with one of Elizabeth Taylor’s husbands, McShane said: “Richard said to me one night, ‘You know I’m very glad you’re playing this part … You remind me of Elizabeth.’ My hair was long and a little darker in those days.”

Robin Williams reportedly checked into the famed Hazelden rehabilitation center in Oregon on July 11, according to the National Enquirer. The tabloid claims Williams, 54, who began drinking again after 20 years of sobriety, admitted his problem when pricy merchandise was delivered to his house and the comic actor did not remember ordering it.

Jim Carrey’s Gulfstream V is available to charter for $8,000 an hour, the New York Daily News’ Lloyd Grove reports. Carrey bought the jet for a reported $41 million in early 2001. Trans-Exec Private Jets in Van Nuys, Calif., confirmed the jet, registered to Carrey, is for rent. We guess Carrey could use the spending money for a couple of reasons: 1) his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy or 2) his film career is on the skids (did you see “Fun With Dick and Jane?”).

Owen Wilson, who plays an unwelcome guest in his latest film, “You, Me and Dupree,” admits to a similar real-life scenario involving him. “I went to visit Woody (Harrelson) and his family in Hawaii for a weekend and I stayed for four weeks,” Wilson told Maxim magazine. Harrelson’s wife finally dropped a hint to Wilson. “(She) was so sweet and patient – said, ‘Do you need a ride to the airport?”‘
