An Amber Alert was issued Friday for two missing Avon kids, a 15-year-old girl and and 11-year-old boy, who were allegedly abducted by their mother’s live-in boyfriend, authorities said.
Jessica Marbella Garcia and Jose Lewis Cerrato were last seen Friday at 5 a.m., and authorities believe their abductor may be taking them to Mexico. All of the children’s belongings were taken, police said.
The boyfriend, Pedro Mata Rodriguez, 31, has a long criminal history that includes a sexual assault. Rodriguez is a registered sex offender out of Florida, and his original offense was for fondling a child, authorities said.
Police warn that Rodriguez has been known to carry a firearm in the past.
Garcia is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds, and has long, curly brown hair. Cerrato is 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 98 pounds and has brown hair on the side and blonde hair on the top of his head.
Rodriguez is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds, and has brown eyes, and short black hair.
Police did not release a description of the suspect’s car.
A third person also is believed to be traveling with Rodriguez. She was described as a 26-year-old woman, about 5 feet tall and about 140 pounds, with curly brown hair and brown eyes.
