Passengers encountered fast-moving security lines and few if any delays during the morning travel peak at Denver International Airport on Friday.
“Everything’s going great this morning,” said Chuck Cannon, spokesman for DIA.
At 7:30 a.m., the airport’s tip line reported waits of 20 minutes, though travelers were moving through the security lines in the main terminal in much less time. By 9 a.m., the wait was reported to be five minutes.
It was a far cry from the scene the day before, when hundreds of travelers missed flights and waited for up to two hours in screening lines because of security measures linked to the London terrorist arrests that banned all liquids and gels in carry-ons.
Most travelers on Friday said they had seen media accounts of the new restrictions and had placed all liquids in their checked baggage.
