A University of Colorado student was assaulted twice by different people on July 23, and police are looking for suspects.
The victim, an unidentified, 21-year-old male, was walking with a friend in the area of 10th and Pleasant streets in Boulder when the first confrontation occurred just after 2 a.m. A man punched him in the face, according to Boulder police.
“He got into a confrontation with his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend,” said Julie Brooks, spokeswoman for the Boulder Police Department. “We have identified (the assailant) and are still in the process of determining what to do.”
While leaving the scene of the initial assault, the victim and his friend confronted a group of “college-aged males,” according to the report.
“They were mocking him about the first confrontation,” Brooks said.
One of that group punched the victim in the jaw from behind as he was walking away, police said.
The victim suffered two jaw fractures.
