Defenseman Kyle Kos and center Dominic Noel signed contracts Tuesday to play for the Broomfield-based Rocky Mountain Rage in the Central Hockey League.
Kos has played in the Western Hockey League, the International Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League and the United Hockey League. Noel played in the ECHL last season as a rookie, recording 30 points in 58 games.
CU soccer coach promoted
University of Colorado women’s assistant soccer coach Paul Hogan has been promoted to associate head coach. Hogan has spent the past six years as an assistant for the program.
The CU women’s soccer team will hold open tryouts for the upcoming season today at 10 a.m. at Prentup Field, east of the intersection of 30th and Colorado, between 33rd and Innovation just off Colorado Avenue in Boulder. Players will need shin guards and cleats and must provide their own ball.
DU women’s lacrosse coach goes to Maryland
University of Denver women’s lacrosse coach Cathy Nelson Reese and assistant coach Jen Adams are leaving the Pioneers to coach at the University of Maryland. Last season, Denver was 15-5, and was in the the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) final, and Nelson Reese was the MPSF coach of the year.
