Beaver Creek Oktoberfest

Two Vail weekend fests
Vail is having two Oktoberfest weekends, Sept. 8-10 and Sept. 15-17. The first weekend will be in Lionshead Village; the second in the heart of Vail Village. The Eagle Bahn Gondola will be open both weekends Friday through Sunday. Activities include bratwurst-eating contests, keg bowling, alpine horns, yodeling and music. Aspen charity bike ride
The 3rd annual Aspen/Snowmass Ride for the Cure is Sept. 9. The 100-mile road ride includes 250 cyclists and winds through Rocky Mountain valleys. The ride starts and finishes in downtown Aspen, and each participant is responsible for raising a minimum of $500 each for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. A free, all-day Oktoberfest will be held Sept. 9 at Snowmass Village Mall. The festival combines authentic German beer, music and cuisine, with more modern live music.
