Eric Grilly, president of ap Interactive, will add the title of senior vice president of ap and join the company’s top executives on a newly formed executive committee.
Grilly, 35, began his career with Denver-based Media News Group in 1999 at The Denver Post, where he was in charge of online operations. MediaNews, which owns The Denver Post, is the nation’s fourth-largest newspaper group.
Grilly’s membership on the committee “enhances online, interactive visibility in the overall organization, and that will be my function to make sure we have that type of thinking on all the activities, programs and initiatives that we do,” he said Friday.
Besides Grilly, the committee members are William Dean Singleton, vice chairman and chief executive of MediaNews; Joseph J. Lodovic IV, president; and Steven B. Rossi, the newly named executive vice president and chief operating officer.
MediaNews maintains more than 75 websites for its daily newspapers and an umbrella site, www.newschoice.com.
The company is committed to broadening its online presence, Grilly said.
“We will make sure we provide our users what they are looking for, when they want it, where they want it and how they want it, on the Internet, on mobile devices, on PDAs.”
