A robber fired several shots inside the Aurora Catholic Federal Credit Union this morning before getting away with about $10,000, officials say.
No one was injured in the robbery at 2150 S. Peoria St. that happened at about 9:40 a.m., said Lt. Jim Steciuk of the Aurora Police Department.
The suspect demanded money and then fired a pistol several times at the walls and the ceiling, Steciuk said.
“I think the suspect did that as a tactic to scare the employees,” he said.
The suspect fled in a silver Nissan Altima sedan with a paper taped over the license plate, Steciuk said. The paper had a star on it, he said.
