Want to instant-message on the go? Sony’s Mylo personal communicator can make it happen. Capable of operating on any open 802.11b wireless network, the portable device lets you IM your pals from college campuses, at airport hot spots and in other connected locales. Equipped with a 2.4-inch LCD, 1 gigabyte of memory, a built-in speaker and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the slim device can send Web-based e-mail, play music and display photos and video footage. It also comes with Skype software, allowing registered Skype users to make online calls. Available in black or white, the Mylo ships with a microphone, stereo headphones, a USB cable and a protective case. It will go on sale in September for about $350.

You can set your PC’s music free with Logitech’s Wireless DJ Music System. Using the system’s wireless technology, you can play MP3 music, iTunes, Internet radio and other audio on your PC through your stereo or powered multimedia speakers up to 150 feet away. Setup is easy: Connect the system’s transmitter to a USB port on your PC, and the receiver to the jacks on your stereo or powered speakers. The system has a Wireless DJ remote with a backlit LCD screen, giving you the power to control your music choices throughout your home.
