Q: I got out of a long-term relationship two years ago and I’m still single. I have done the whole bar/club scene for the last year and a half, but never met that special guy or any guy for that matter.
I want to try the speed dating thing but it seems like the only places you can do it are in NYC and the movies.
Now I’m starting to think it’s: a) ME- I’m Hispanic’ b) the guys at the clubs/bars’ c) my girlfriends; or, d) all of the above. I mean, aren’t we the number one city for singles?
Please let me know.
PS – You should have a section especially for things like this, emphasizing singles ready to mingle.
Thank you for your time.
SCOTT: No problem! My time is your time – for the next eight minutes anyway starting now!
Speed dating would be great for you to try since, 1) you’re open to the idea, and 2) you get to meet a large number of people. You typically spend eight minutes or less with them, which is more than enough time to connect and make a first impression.
The best part is that you don’t have the pressure of rejecting anyone to their face. The concept originally began so that Jewish people in large cities could meet other Jews but it caught on and, due to its popularity and success, it’s spread everywhere, including Denver.
I put “speed dating Denver” in a search engine and found lots of upcoming events. They’re going on all of the time!
Our date is over now but give speed dating a try and you could wind up finding someone you want to spend an hour and half with.
