Q: When driving west on Interstate 70 toward the coliseum, I always enjoyed looking at the mural painted atop the Purina building that showed the little dog peering into a bag of dog food. I just noticed that, after decades of being there, it is gone. What happened to it?

A: Graphics are changed every five to 10 years on the building as advertising campaigns change. The building was recently repainted, and two new dogs will soon be painted on the side. Sparky, the dog with his head in the bag, was a very popular graphic in the early to mid-1990s. There were a couple of other graphics painted after Sparky.

Q: I was in Dillon over the weekend. I am trying to find out how deep the lake is.

A: Completed in September 1963, the man- made reservoir is the largest water-storage facility in the Denver Water system. It is about 275 feet deep. The original town of Dillon was relocated along with a hydroelectric plant to build the dam.
