Mariah Carey received bling bling worth nearly $6 million from Prince Azim before a sold-out concert in New York, the Daily Mirror reported. Before the Madison Square Garden concert last week, an eight-carat flawless diamond and platinum necklace and matching ring from Azim, son of the Sultan of Brunei, were delivered by special envoy.
Brandon Davis, grandson of the late billionaire Denver oilman Marvin Davis, may have moved in with Paris Hilton. Hilton’s managers are concerned Davis, who recently completed rehab for cocaine and alcohol addictions, has gotten too close to their client, Life & Style Weekly reports. A source told the magazine, “Paris’ management has been very direct with her about distancing herself from him.” The magazine reported Davis’ clothes, toiletries and even some of his artwork are at Hilton’s residence.
Jessica Simpson and singer-songwriter John Mayer are dating, People magazine confirmed. A source told the magazine Simpson was expected to attend his concert in Jones Beach, N.Y., Wednesday night. Simpson has had to cut short her publicity tour for her new CD, “A Public Affair,” because of bruised vocal cords, her rep said. Simpson canceled a performance on CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” this week.
Kate Hudson and her husband, Chris Robinson, have reunited just two weeks after an announced split, according to the New York Post. The couple will spend the Labor Day weekend together at a NASCAR race in Fontana, Calif. The couple have a 2-year-old son, Ryder Russell.
Hilary Swank apparently has bounced back from her divorce to Chad Lowe. The two-time Oscar winner has been dating her high-powered agent, John Campisi. The National Enquirer published photos of the two embracing and kissing in Rome. The tabloid also wrote that Swank’s lawyers have denied any romance between the two in letters since March. Campisi is married and has a child. A “close family friend” told the Enquirer: Swank and Campisi have “always cared about one another, but when Hilary’s marriage broke up, they went from friends to sweethearts.”
Kyra Phillips, anchor of CNN’s “Live From …,” unwittingly upstaged President Bush’s speech in New Orleans Tuesday when her wireless microphone was “live” while she was in the ladies restroom. Phillips was heard talking about her family to another woman, including using a vulgar term about men before complimenting her husband. In the 1-minute, 42-second segment, Phillips said: “Brothers have to be, you know, protective. Except for mine. I’ve got to be protective of him … His wife is just a control freak.” That’s when someone told Phillips her mike was on. CNN issued an apology to its viewers and the White House, saying the incident was caused by “audio difficulties.”
Bruce Springsteen, on his website, denied reports he and wife Patti Scialfa are splitting up. On brucespringsteen.net, Springsteen denied a New York Post story (also reported in Sunday’s Denver Post) that claimed his marriage was on the rocks because of the rocker’s relationship with a Sept. 11 widow he met while organizing a charity event. “Patti and I have been together for 18 years – the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married,” Springsteen, 56, said.
