Douglas County-based Starz Entertainment Group was renamed Starz LLC Tuesday, following the completion of its acquisition of IDT Entertainment last week. Starz, a subsidiary of Liberty Media Group, acquired the entertainment division of IDT in May for $186 million.

The newly formed company has been broken into two divisions. IDT Entertainment, headquartered in Burbank will become Starz Media, which is focused on animation and live action programming. IDT also distributes and syndicates live action feature films, original programming series and cartoons.

Starz’s pay TV channels and Vongo Internet movie service will fall under the Starz Entertainment division and remain in Douglas County.

The move gives Starz an interest in all facets of media distribution, from theatrical releases to home viewing on DVDs, pay TV, on the Internet.

Robert B. Clasen will serve as chairman and chief executive officer of both entities and of Starz LLC. Clasen had been president and CEO of SEG.
