The event takes over downtown Denver’s Civic Center this Labor Day weekend and offers a chance to say goodbye to summer in style and with great food.

Kiss summer goodbye with a nosh and a mosh at Taste of Colorado

A Taste of Colorado marks the unofficial end of summer for many hungry Denverites.

The annual food festival, one of the city’s biggest attractions, features dozens of culinary delights, music, carnival attractions for kids and educational programs.

The festival kicks off today and runs through Monday. Here are the details on the rest of the weekend’s events:

What: A Taste of Colorado

Where: Civic Center Park, downtown Denver

When: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday

What’s new: Expanded hours, pioneer and science educational programs, guest star chefs

KidZone: Rides, games, crafts, clowns, magicians, dancers and kid’s music

Culinary Showcase: Pat Miller (The Gabby Gourmet), Keegan Gerhard (Food Network), Elise Wiggins (Panzano) and more

Music: Mindi Abair (today), L.A. Guns (Saturday), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (Sunday), America (Monday), plus dozens of local jazz, rock and country acts

Food: More than 50 restaurants, including Colorado Buffalo Grill, Mustard’s Last Stand, Wild Ginger and Wholly Tomato

Admission: Free. Food tickets are eight for $5. Most restaurants offer “taste” portions for 2-3 tickets.
