Radio talk-show host Peter Boyles has been diagnosed with West Nile virus.

Boyles, whose show airs mornings Mondays through Fridays on KHOW 630-AM, said today, “For about six months I’ve been feeling achy and tired. I figured I’m just old.”

He also thought it might be stress-related from his on-air battle with local media over coverage of the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation.

But Boyles, 62, this week was diagnosed with a mild case of the disease, whose symptoms include fever, aches and headaches. He’s taking anti-inflammatory medication.

He joked, “I told (station) management that I need six months of bed rest.”

He has continued to host his daily radio show but is off the air until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend.
