DENVER – Statewide and metro Denver hotel occupancy rates were basically flat for August, compared with the same month last year, but average daily room rates continued to rise, according to the latest Rocky Mountain Lodging Report released Tuesday.

Statewide, occupancy rates were up half a percentage point, to 72 percent, compared with August 2005. Average room rates increased by $7.98, to $113.72.

For metro Denver, average hotel-occupancy rates in August were basically flat, at 76.7 percent. Average room rates grew by $10.03 to $106.81.
