Manitou Springs High School is asking all those who played for Mustangs football coach George Rykovich – a list of former players that goes back to 1971 – to attend his final regular-season home game, Oct. 20, against Ellicott.
Known for his single-wing offense, Rykovich has a 219-126-1 lifetime record at Manitou Springs, including a 53-6 mark with two state championships from 1985-90. Those seasons included Justin Armour, who won The Denver Post Gold Helmet in 1990. Armour went on to play at Stanford and in the NFL, including a stint with the Broncos.
