USADA suspends Eagle cyclist Mortenson

James Mortenson, a cyclist from Eagle, has been suspended for two years after failing to provide his whereabouts and missing three doping tests, U.S. Anti-Doping Agency officials said Tuesday. Mortenson, 31, began serving his suspension Aug. 22, the date of a three-member arbitration panel hearing. Mortenson also forfeits all results since Oct. 22, the date of his most recent test, USADA said in a statement.

Mortenson missed the tests over an 18-month period, according to USADA, which oversees drug testing for U.S. Olympic athletes and hopefuls.

Attempts to reach Mortenson at a phone number in Eagle were unsuccessful.
