More than 82,000 cable workers who have successfully completed at least one course over the past 38 years from Jones/NCTI, formerly the National Cable Television Institute, will be eligible for a tuition scholarship of up to 20 percent at Centennial-based Jones International University, the accredited online university.
The agreement is the result of an evaluation conducted of the Jones/NCTI coursework and academic programs by JIU, www.jones international.edu.
In addition, Jones/NCTI graduates who have earned an associate degree through the company’s partnership with Arapahoe Community College will be admitted to Jones International University with full recognition of credits. On a per-course basis, the saving is from $240 to $360. For a bachelor’s degree, the saving is $8,000, and for a master’s degree, it’s $4,000.
More than 250,000 cable-industry professionals have graduated from Jones/NCTI courses since the company began training cable technicians and customer-care agents. Of those, over 82,000 have completed at least one course that is eligible for university credit.
