LAKELAND, Fla.-
Police were searching for a suspect who was involved in a shooting with sheriff’s deputies Thursday, authorities said.
A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said she en route to the scene and had no further details.
The shooting occurred in north Lakeland near a high school, which television reports said was locked down.
Television video footage showed armed police with shields searching a wooded area with traffic backed up on nearby Interstate 4.
