LANDSCAPES ALIGHT

Adrian Davis Photography

cachelaphoto.com or 303-906-7700

There are a million Colorado landscape photos to choose from, but what sets Adrian Davis’ work apart is his ability to hold tight to the unusual light of the high valleys of northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. We’re especially partial to some of his still lifes, including “Sleeping Columbine,” above. You can catch a glimpse online, or at Mountain Crafts Gallery in downtown Red Feather Lakes or The Collective in Old Town Fort Collins.

RedCamper handbags

Where do old slides go to retire? In funky rubber-handled handbags created by Denver artist Maura Gramzinski. She started with trays of vintage slides she inherited from her grandparents (they visited every continent except Antarctica) and now has moved on to postcards from tourist traps around the globe and will even assemble a bag from your own slides. Each is waterproof and includes a duplicate of one of the naughty pinup shots her grandpa sneaked into his slide shows. Check the goods out online, or at Composition at Belmar in Lakewood, or East End Applied Arts in Aurora.
