Getting your player ready...
Showers and thunderstorms moved up the East Coast on Friday, though the precipitation was confined to Maine by late afternoon.
Cool rain showers fell in the Upper Midwest and pushed into the Ohio Valley in the evening.
The Lower Mississippi Valley and the Southern Plains were dry, and high pressure protected the West from precipitation. Low clouds did hug the West Coast and brought cooler air to coastal regions.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states ranged from 26 degrees at Stanley, Idaho, to 105 degrees at Palm Springs, Calif.
