COLLINSVILLE, Ill.-

A three-vehicle crash in southern Illinois killed six people, including five family members, authorities said Sunday.

The chain-reaction crash happened Saturday evening near Belleville, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Roger Hayes said.

Five of the victims, ranging in age from 7 to 64, were from the same family, Hayes said. The driver of another vehicle also died.

The cause of the accident was still under investigation, Hayes said.
