The DIA Partnership has chosen a Florida aviation management consultant to lead its efforts to promote economic development in the region surrounding Denver International Airport.

Mary Rose Loney will take over as chief executive of the DIA Partnership Nov. 1. She will replace Julie Bender, who announced in May that she would leave the group.

Prior to launching her consulting business in 2000, Loney held a variety of airport management positions, according to a biography posted on her firm’s website. She was commissioner of aviation for the Chicago Airport System and director of aviation for the City of Philadelphia’s airports.

During her airport management career, Loney implemented more than $2 billion in major capital development programs at large and medium hub airports in the U.S. including Chicago, Philadelphia, San Jose, Calif., and Albuquerque, N.M.

“We are so pleased to have Mary Rose Loney join the DIA Partnership,” Jeff Willis, chairman of the DIA Partnership’s board and executive vice president at Berkeley Homes, said in a statement issued by the Partnership. “Her credentials and experience couldn’t be a more perfect fit to lead the DIA Partnership and the Northeast region’s future growth, and I believe she will be a tremendous asset to our community.”
