Two men, one a soldier from Georgia, were arrested today on suspicion of shooting at a car they pulled alongside of on C-470 during morning rush hour.

Police said the men are suspected of firing at least four shots at a car containing three women, all from Georgia.

One of the bullets went through the driver’s door and struck the driver. She was taken to Littleton Hospital where she is listed in serious condition.

A passenger called 911 on her cell phone as the women’s car stopped at Yosemite Street. Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the two men a short while later near University Boulevard and arrested them. Police recovered a gun from their car.

The two suspects are identified as Latonya Smith, 30, a U.S. Army soldier based in Georgia; and Dalton L. Knox III, 28, of Colorado Springs.

The wounded driver was identified as Denisia Rashonda Washington-Bugg, 25, of Georgia. The passengers were identified as Jamese Lanette Littles, 24, of Hinesville, GA; and Yolanda Nicole Walker, 22, of Hinesville, GA.
