“Motorcycling the Alps”

Parker Library’s 2006 Fall Travel Series continues with “Motorcycling the Alps,” a program about six motorcyclists cruising the Alps, at 7 p.m. Oct. 18; and “South Africa – Diamonds and Whales,” a program exploring the Premier Diamond mine, the Ithala Game Reserve, African basket weavers, the central Kalihari and more, at 7 p.m. Oct. 25. Beaver Creek Halloweenfest

Beaver Creek’s third annual Halloweenfest will be Oct. 28. A haunted breakfast with costumed wait staff is 7:30-10:30 a.m. at Bivans at the Park. Enjoy free outdoor ice skating noon-8 p.m. The fest also offers free family Halloween films; a pumpkin-carving contest; and treats. A costume contest judges will roam the village 5-6:45 p.m. searching for the most creative costumes. Prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m. The Haunted Chophouse to benefit Eagle County Charter Academy will be open 5-9 p.m. Oct. 26-28, admission is $8. Call 970-845-9090.
