Efficas Inc., a Boulder- based health-science and technology-development company, announced it has secured $14.5 million in Series B financing. LSP BioVentures Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., led the round along with Unilever Technology Ventures, Burrill and Co., Great Spirit Ventures, JP Morgan Bay Area Equity Fund and Prolog Ventures.
EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) will give $2 million to the Colorado School of Mines to support construction of Marquez Hall, the new petroleum-engineering building planned at the school. The gift will be in annual payments of $400,000 over the next five years.

Colorado Gov. Bill Owens announced that four Colorado airports have been awarded state aviation grants. Front Range Airport Authority received $249,158 for improvements at Front Range Airport; Jefferson County, $194,737 for Jefferson County Airport; Arapahoe County Airport Authority, $75,000 for Centennial Airport; and the Town of Erie, $17,895 for improvements at Erie Municipal Airport.
