Fort Carson – Three soldiers attached to a Fort Carson unit were killed in combat in Iraq, the U.S. military said today.

Their names were not immediately released.

The three were attached to Task Force Lightning, which was assigned to Fort Carson’s 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team. Another soldier from the task force was injured in the incident, the military said.

It was not immediately clear whether Fort Carson was the home post of the four soldiers or if they were from other posts but attached to the task force. Fort Carson officials said they had no information on the deaths.

The troops were among nine soldiers and one Marine killed by roadside bombs and enemy fire Tuesday, the military said.
