WELD COUNTY – A woman was killed and a child seriously injured in a two- vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Weld County.
The collision happened about 6 a.m. when the woman, traveling south on Weld County Road 51 in a Mercury Cougar, spun out of control and into an oncoming Ford Ranger, according to the State Patrol.
The woman, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 3-year-old boy restrained in a child safety seat in the left rear seat was flown to the Children’s Hospital in Denver.
The driver of the Ford, Deborah Preston, 48, of Greeley, suffered moderate injuries and was treated at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
